Zack Sabre Jr. Thinks It’s Lazy To Criticize Konosuke Takeshita For Not Being Part Of Build To NJPW King Of Pro-Wrestling

Sabre Jr. defends Takeshita.

The marquee bout for NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling on October 13th is G1 Climax 35 winner Konosuke Takeshita challenging Zack Sabre Jr. for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

Takeshita was not part of the Destruction tour, nor is he on the Road to King of Pro-Wrestling tour, as he’s been with All Elite Wrestling.

Sabre Jr. defended Takeshita during an interview with NJPW1972.com and feels it is lazy to criticise Takeshita for not being part of the build to King of Pro-Wrestling, seeing as how he’s contracted to AEW, NJPW and DDT Pro-Wrestling.

“I think it would be a lazy route to criticise him for not being on these events, this comes part and parcel with him being triple contracted. When he comes into a New Japan ring, he really shows up and gives 100 percent and more and that’s what I’m more focused on.”

Five days after challenging for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title, Takeshita will be in St. Louis, Missouri, for AEW WrestleDream. He’ll be teaming with AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada to challenge Brodido (Bandido & Brody King) for the AEW World Tag Team Titles.
