Viva Van: I’m No Longer An Extra, I’m Trying To Show That I’m An Equal Talent

Viva Van is proving that she belongs.

In January 2025, Viva Van shocked the world by announcing that she had signed a contract with AEW. This news came after Van spent many years working as an extra for the company.

Now, Van is a regular on ROH TV, competing against names like Billie Starkz and Deonna Purrazzo in recent weeks. Speaking with Pep Shop Collectibles, Van said that she wants to prove to fans that she’s an equal talent now.

“It’s been great. I’ve been trying my best to show people why I’m here and why I belong here because before I got to AEW/ROH, I worked as an extra there for a really long time, so I didn’t get to showcase myself as much as I wanted when I worked as an extra. Now that I’m signed, I’m able to do that and I want to show that I belong there. It’s kinda of a hill for me to get over to let people see more than just an extra — I’m no longer an extra, I’m equal talent now and that’s what I’m trying to show.”
