The Undertaker Addresses Misconception That He Got Mickie James Replaced On WWE LFG, Michelle McCool Was Originally Offered Season One Role
The Undertaker and Michelle McCool speak about the misconception about Mickie James’ departure from WWE LFG.
Originally, McCool was asked to be a coach on season one, but could not commit full-time.
Season two of the A&E series WWE LFG is set to premiere on June 22nd. There is a change in the coaches for season two as WWE Hall of Famer Michelle McCool is replacing Mickie James.
McCool now joins Bully Ray, Booker T, and The Undertaker as coaches. As Undertaker and McCool were being interviewed by Shakiel Mahjouri, he spoke about the misconception that he had something to do with McCool replacing James.
He joked about getting James fired, and then revealed McCool was offered a coaching role for season one, but she could not commit full-time, so that’s why she appeared as a guest on that season.
Undertaker: “Well, contrary to what people believe, a lot of people on the — what do they call it?”
McCool: “We’re very sarcastic by nature, that’s why I had to watch — I was gonna say, of course, my husband, he gets me everything. That’s what I was gonna say.”
Undertaker: “Yes. I got Mickie (James) fired so I could bring her in… And since we’re already down the lane because I would never address it any other place but, you get the scoop. It was like, when I was presented the opportunity to be a coach, she was presented the opportunity at the same time. We couldn’t do it together because of (our) kids. It was too much and that’s why she had the few spots on season one (of WWE LFG). We were trying to figure out schedules and what it would be like. If she was to do season two, we get it worked out…”
The season one winners of WWE LFG were Tyra Mae Steele and Jasper Troy. Both were added to the NXT talent roster, and Troy has since gone on to challenge for the NXT Championship.
