Two AEW Veterans Working As Coaches In AEW And ROH
Two AEW vets have been helping out in the company in coaching roles.
Angelico joined All Elite Wrestling in 2019 as a member of TH2 with Jack Evans. Since then, he’s not been a heavily featured player in the company, but has remained there. Fightful Select has learned that he actually has been working as a coach and producer virtually all year. We aren’t sure when he started in the role, but he produced the Megan Bayne vs. Emily Rose Collision match on August 9.
Even while producing, he’s remained a regular on ROH TV. He’s been teaming with Serpentico, who has been a producer/agent for the company for years. Angelico also teamed with AR Fox on a recent episode of Collision, losing to Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne.
Another veteran AEW name has been working as a coach within the company.
Fightful Select has also learned that “The Premier Athlete” Tony Nese has been serving as a coach/agent within All Elite Wrestling. He was listed on recent internal documents as coaching matches match, and when we asked in AEW, we were told that he had been working in that role for quite some time, it just wasn’t publicly known.
Nese has been slightly less active in the ring starting over the last two years, but is still a semi-regular talent on Ring of Honor TV. He’s been teaming with his longtime tag team partner Ariya Daivari.
Nese has been wrestling for 20 years, across the indies, TNA, WWE and All Elite Wrestling.
