Trey Miguel Wants To Take Advantage Of TNA Opportuity By Doing Something Big For Himself And The Company

Trey Miguel returned to TNA Wrestling on January 22 after being released by AEW before making his official on-screen appearance.

He competed in the Feast or Fired match in his return, getting a briefcase containing a shot at the TNA International Championship, which is currently held by NXT superstar Stacks. Miguel will face Stacks for the title at TNA No Surrender.

Speaking to Tim & Eli on Battleground, Trey was asked about the match.

“I’ve had a lot of matches where, before the match, I’ve put it in my head, ‘This is the most important match of my career.’ At the time, maybe that’s correct. I truly feel that this time. This is an opportunity, with re-signing with TNA, being on my own, having to stand on my own two legs all over again with everything that I’ve been through, which has not been easy to do, but to show up for myself and have the opportunity to not only win the TNA International Championship, but to take it back from NXT. That’s huge. It’s a huge opportunity for me and I’m not going to take it lightly. I plan on coming into that match more calculated, more serious, more dialed in than I’ve ever been. I’m doing everything I can to make sure I take advantage of this opportunity and do something big not only for myself, but also for TNA,” he said.

Trey did not directly address his AEW departure in the interview.

Fightful will have coverage of No Surrender on Friday.
