Tony Schiavone Calls ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm The Best Women’s Wrestling Gimmick Of All Time
Tony Schiavone doubles down on his love of the “Timeless” Toni Storm character.
In the past, Tony Schiavone has called Toni Storm his favorite women’s wrestler of all time. Now, he says that her “Timeless” character is one of the greatest in professional wrestling history and the best when it comes to any women’s wrestling gimmicks, past or present.
Conrad Thompson asked Tony Schiavone on the latest episode of the What Happened When podcast if The Undertaker was the greatest wrestling gimmick of all time. Tony agreed, and then, when Conrad mentioned Toni Storm’s ability to work her way into the same category if she continues this gimmick, Schiavone heaped praise onto the current AEW Women’s World Champion.
“I was thinking about that too, but I didn’t really want to compare Toni Storm to Undertaker, but that is a tremendous gimmick. Probably, as far as women’s wrestling goes, the best [gimmick of all time]. Again, just taking an idea that Tony Khan had and putting the right people in the right places. You couldn’t really do this with anybody; she just really leaned into it, as the old cliche goes, and is just wonderful to work with.”
Toni Storm is on her fourth reign with the AEW Women’s World Championship. She recently defeated Athena at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
