Tony Khan Calls Jon Moxley AEW’s Harley Race

Tony Khan calls Jon Moxley AEW’s Harley Race during a preview of AEW WrestleDream.

Harley Race is one of the last great traveling NWA World Champions of the territory era in professional wrestling. Moreover, he’s one of the most respected professional wrestlers of all time.

Tony Khan recently previewed AEW WrestleDream during an appearance on Jeff Jarrett’s My World YouTube Channel. During the discussion, Conrad Thompson asked Tony who would be AEW’s version of Harley Race. While Thompson was ready to lead Tony and say that it would be Jon Moxley, Khan was right there to agree with him and explain why he would choose MOX to make that comparison.

“He’s won the most championships. He’s traveled the world. He’s a hardened veteran. He’s from the Midwest, and he’s a straight shooter, and he’s a great person who’s respected by his peers, who takes no gruff and is so respected as a pro wrestling veteran. Actually, many times in Jon Moxley’s matches, I’ve observed, it was like watching a great Harley Race match, or even someone like Harley Race’s great matches in Japan, reminds me of some of the great Jon Moxley matches. So there’s a lot of great influences and a lot of great wrestlers that contribute to Jon Moxley. But Jon Moxley is also an incredible, very unique personality in the world of pro wrestling, who I think it’s really cool that he draws comparisons to such a great champion like Harley Race.”

Jon Moxley will next face Darby Allin in an “I Quit” Match at AEW WrestleDream on October 18. Check out the full card here. We will have full coverage of the event as it occurs.
