Tom Aspinall speaks on what WWE star he would like to square off with in the ring.
The UFC Heavyweight Champion previously visited a WWE event in October of last year, getting into the ring for a live promo segment with then world champions in WWE, Cody Rhodes and Gunther. While they would not get physical, that did not mean that Aspinall was against the idea.
While speaking to Kiss Xtra in a new interview, Aspinall was asked who he would like to wrestle if he could face off with anyone in a WWE ring. After reflecting on his visit to a WWE live event, Aspinall would name The Rock as his ultimate WWE opponent.
“I went to a WWE (show) recently and I wanted to do like a little bit, like I wanted to punch someone and just make some good headlines and stuff. Like, that’s what I wanted to do. But UFC actually wouldn’t let me do it. So I got in the ring and did some talking. But it wasn’t the same. I wanted to, like, really be involved with it. He (Gunther) was awesome. Great guys. (Cody Rhodes and Gunther) Loved them. Loved them both. But, like, I used to watch it when The Rock was in. Randy Orton, John Cena. They were the top boys when I was watching it. Yeah, yeah. But they’re a bit old school now. But probably The Rock.”
