Toa Liona On GOA: We’re Ready To Put AEW On Our Back And Take It To Higher Places

Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona are climbing the ranks in AEW.
Since linking up with Ricochet at the end of the summer, the Gates Of Agony have been on a bit of a tear in AEW, picking up wins over teams like the Hurt Syndicate and JetSpeed.
Speaking with the Battleground podcast for a new interview, Bishop Kaun spoke about the team’s recent surge of notable opportunities.
“I think we have forced their hand. He has touched on it before, we have been undeniable. Every time that we have an opportunity, we never look at it like it’s a day off. Even those ROH matches, we get so serious backstage. Every time we go out, there’s an opportunity to knock it out of the park and if we take a step back, they can just pull us like that. We have forced their hand. It’s not a decision that we are undeniable. Every time we go out there, we come to the back and Tony is like, ‘Holy shit.’ Yeah, no shit bro, we’ve been doing this. Look at Twitter. Look at the online social media stuff, ‘We’ve been having stocks in GOA for years.’ Y’all should’ve had.”
Toa Liona followed up on his partner’s comments by saying that they’re ready to put AEW on their back.
“That’s the thing too, we’re very intense guys if the opportunities we had called for that. But man, we can talk, we can do stuff like this. We are ready to put AEW on our back and take it to the higher places, man. For us to get this opportunity every week, we definitely feel that AEW — and Tony— has seen what we’ve done and it feels so fulfilling in sense like man, all of that hard work. All those times we didn’t take Ring Of Honor off, all those times that we could have just been pouting. We worked harder, we doubled down and we worked even harder. For it to be noticed and received and we’re getting these opportunities because of that, it’s a huge blessing and we’re very grateful. We’re taking these opportunities and doing it all over again. Give us more. Give us more and watch us lead the company.”
