The NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship was on the line at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20, and it kicked off the in-ring action on the main card.

Going into the match, the champions were Toru Yano, YOH, and Master Wato. Below is the order in which the respective trios entered the match:

The match concluded with Zack Sabre Jr. trapping Oleg Boltin in a pin to secure the win for his team. With the victory, Hartley Jackson and Ryohei Oiwa have obtained their first titles in New Japan.

At NJPW New Year Dash on 1/5, Sabre Jr. and Oiwa, the 2025 World Tag League winners, will challenge the Knockout Brothers (Yuto-Ice & OSKAR) for the IWGP Tag Team Championship.
