The Young Bucks: There’s Money In A Reunion Of The Elite Before We Call It Quits
The Young Bucks, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson, talk about reuniting The true Elite, with themselves, Kenny Omega, and Hangman Page, at least once more.
All Elite Wrestling was built on the popularity of The Elite. When the company started in 2019, that faction included Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson. Over the years, it would change. Cody Rhodes left for WWE, Hangman chose his own path, and Kenny and the Young Bucks became villains. The group also included Michael Nakazawa, Brandon Cutler, Don Callis, Adam Cole, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson.
Later, they would reunite but then be split apart, and a new version of the group would be added, including Matt and Nick Jackson, Jack Perry, and Kazuchika Okada. Now, they’re talking about the possibility of reuniting the true group at least one more time. They are both more than open to doing something, as they explained on the Battleground Podcast.
“That’s an interesting question. Great question, because right now it feels like it is just the two of us. So why even call it The Elite at this point? I think that changes on a weekly basis. We would like it to be a thing, but right now it doesn’t feel like it fits the character that we’re portraying, being the center of a group. I feel like the two of us, just as the Young Bucks, fit better with what we’re doing, because we can’t have Okada not have an entrance. He’s too cool, you know what I mean? So that’s where that’s at at this moment, that could change later on,” said Nick.
Matt added, “I think that there’s always a chance to bring it back. It is All Elite Wrestling, and I think that it’s in the DNA. It would be silly, you know, not to give the audience maybe one last reunion run. I’m not saying that’s gonna happen, but it would be, I think, silly to not do it before we call it quits, before Kenny calls it quits, before Hangman calls it quits. Or, you know, whoever, or maybe it would just be the original Elite, you know, the three. I think that there’s money in it, and I think it would be ridiculous not to revisit it at least one more time.”
Currently, Matt and Nick Jackson are getting ready to face Jack Perry and Luchasaurus at AEW WrestleDream. Check out the full card here.
