The Sandman Claims Hacksaw Jim Duggan Told Him In 2007 That WWE Were Thinking Of Putting WWE Tag Titles On Them

The Sandman claims WWE thought of putting the WWE Tag Titles on him and Hacksaw Jim Duggan

The Sandman claims Hacksaw Jim Duggan told him WWE were considering putting the WWE tag titles on them.

On the July 23rd, 2007 edition of WWE Monday Night RAW, the pair would team up for the one and only time on television when they lost in less than three minutes to Carlito and William Regal. Previously, the pair had teamed on WWE live events, but other than that, the pair had little experience as tag team partners.

While speaking on a live version of the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast, The Sandman made the claim that Hacksaw Jim Duggan told him in 2007 that WWE were considering putting the WWE tag titles on the pair. Sandman would then joke about the fact they would have ‘the worst hot tag in the history of the freakin’ business’.

“So (Hacksaw Jim) Duggan comes up to me and he goes, he’s like, ‘yo, Hak, he goes, they’re thinking about putting the tag team straps on us,’ and I’m like, ‘oh, yeah, great.’. I turned around and I’m like, who the fuck is going to do the work? Who’s going to work? What are we, both going to stand on the apron? Who’s doing the hot tag? It would be the worst hot tag in the history of freaking the business.”
