The Miz reflects on wrestlers, including his close friend Dolph Ziggler, being released from WWE.

During his twenty year career with WWE, The Miz has shared a locker room with wrestlers from all over the world, and has also seen his fair share of releases from talents WWE contracts, including some of his close friends.

While speaking on the latest episode of Insight With Chris Van Vliet, The Miz spoke about releases in WWE, noting that he still worries if he’ll be getting released when one is announced. He also shared how he was effected by Dolph Ziggler’s WWE release.

“Honestly, every time there’s a release, I’m like, ‘Oh, no, is it me?’ [Dolph Ziggler’s release] was a tough one for me to see him go because it was kind of like the last of my really core group of friends. I have friends in the locker room, but that was like my core group of friends. I’ve had such great matches with Dolph, too. Like, him putting his career up and me the IC title, that whole IC Title reign, he was a big part of elevating that title as well. And so to see him go is tough, but that’s the name of this business. It happens. Those types of things happen. For me, this is going to sound very cocky and arrogant, I know how valuable I am. I know how good I am. And whether the audience sees it or not, I know people know. If you’ve wrestled me, you know. And so yes, there’s always in the back of your mind, ‘Oh, is it me?’ But then there’s also that other part that goes, ‘Man, I’ve done a lot in this business and I still got more.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, The Miz explained why he feels he only gets ‘the half dead flowers’ from fans. You can read more about that here.
