The Hardy Boyz: We Never Got Our Shot At The NXT Tag Titles After Beating The Champs

The Hardy Boyz, Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy, would love the chance to win more gold in WWE.

Many things have changed in the past several years since Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy were a part of the WWE locker room. Currently, they hold the TNA Tag Team Championships, and TNA has a working relationship with WWE NXT. The Hardy Boyz were a part of WWE NXT Roadblock, and on that show, they defeated Nathan Frazer and Axiom. At the time, FrAxiom were the reigning and defending WWE NXT Tag Team Champions.

Recently, Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy were interviewed by FOX 9 in the Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota areas.

Matt Hardy mentioned that not only would he and Jeff like to win the new WWE Tag Team Championship belt designs that they’ve never held, but they would also really like to expand their legacy by winning their first WWE NXT Tag Team Championships.

“I think too, man, when you talk about titles and us wanting to cement our legacy as one of the greatest tag teams of all time. I still think that, with this interesting partnership between TNA and WWE, I would love to see us mix it up and win some WWE Tag Team Titles again. You know, there are new versions of WWE Tag Titles up on the main roster. There are those NXT Tag titles. You know, a couple of months back, we beat the NXT Tag Team Champions, and we never got a deserved shot. Talk about it. Yeah, we were out there with FrAxiom, and we beat them. 123, in the middle. So we would love to have a shot at those NXT titles too.”

Matt Hardy has stated that TNA is aware that the Hardy Boyz want to retire under the WWE umbrella. Read more here
