Tetsuya Naito Unlikely To Obtain US Visa In 2025, Explains Why NJPW Is His Only Option In Japan

Tetsuya Naito departed New Japan Pro-Wrestling in May, and has only wrestled at RevPro in that time. He has been announced for upcoming shows for wXw and RPW.

In an interview with Tokyo Sports, it’s reported that obtaining a U.S. visa in 2025 is proving difficult for Naito, so he is focused on wrestling in Europe and Asia.

Asked about taking bookings in Japan, Naito said, “That feeling from my entrance exam, when I said, ‘My feelings for New Japan Pro-Wrestling, my dedication to New Japan Pro-Wrestling, are unmatched by anyone’—that sentiment still remains, at least to some extent. Right now, when it comes to domestic rings, New Japan is the only option I’m considering. But I left there with the courage to take that step. If my only domestic options are limited to New Japan, then I want to fight overseas, in places I’ve never shown myself live before.“

He said he felt a certain ”discomfort” about immediately seeking opportunities with other domestic promotions after leaving New Japan.

Naito’s next date is September 27th at wXw in Germany. Fans can learn more here.

RevPro owner Adny Quildan joined In The Weeds ahead of RevPro Anniversary event and spoke about booking Naito and BUSHI. You can find his comments here.
