Tetsuya Naito Reveals Discussions Are Underway For Him To Have Multiple Matches In USA In August & September

Both Naito and BUSHI will be heading to the USA.

First up on the calendar for Tetsuya Naito and BUSHI post-NJPW is Revolution Pro Wrestling’s ‘Summer Sizzler’ event on July 25th in Wolverhampton, England.

The duo has not wrestled since they wrapped up with New Japan Pro-Wrestling as part of the Wrestling Dontaku tour in May. Naito and BUSHI are now going by ‘Los Tranquilos de Japon.’

Tokyo Sports rolled out a new chat with Naito and BUSHI, and the site noted that both are planning to compete in the USA in August and September.

Naito told the outlet that after one more match in the U.K. following Summer Sizzler, he’ll likely be making his way to the USA, as talks are underway for him to have multiple matches in the States in August and September.

He explained why it is important for him to prioritize competing overseas. Naito added that he is not looking to wrestle in Japan right now, but thinks he could end up wrestling in Japan by the end of the year.

“I want to go to places where I haven’t been able to show Naito Tetsuya’s matches before and solidify my future plans. I’m not considering any domestic options at this point. If an offer comes in, I’ll certainly consider it, and as I continue to compete, if I feel like it, I might end up competing for a domestic organization by the end of the year.”

Naito had been part of New Japan since the beginning of his in-ring career in 2006. BUSHI joined as a regular in 2012.
