Taya Valkyrie: AEW Is Grittier Than WWE, Tony Khan Isn’t Afraid To Disrupt

Since entering the wrestling world in 2019, AEW has established itself as the number two promotion in America, carving out a different indentity to what fans might see in WWE.

Speaking on Women’s Wrestling Talk, Taya Valkyrie was asked about the differences between WWE and AEW.

“Here’s the thing: AEW to me is the disruptor. They came in and shook the cage a little bit, making people see pro wrestling from a different perspective. They brought in talent who were thriving internationally, in the Indies, and from around the world. We’re grittier, we’re not afraid to take risks, and Tony (Khan) isn’t afraid to disrupt. That makes wrestling fun and keeps it interesting,” she said.

Valkyrie briefly worked in WWE as Franky Monet in 2021.

She recently competed in the ROH Women’s Pure Title Tournament, losing to Queen Aminata in the first round.
