Swerve Strickland explains why he and Hangman Page have great chemistry.

Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland’s rivalry has become one of the greatest in AEW’s short history, with the pair now on the same side against new AEW World Champion Samoa Joe after previously aligning to take down The Death Riders.

While speaking on Insight With Chris Van Vliet in a new interview, Swerve Strickland was asked why he and Hangman Page have such chemistry in their rivalry.

“Because we are both sick individuals. The thing is, the chemical romance between us is that we need each other. I think that’s why it works.”

When it was pointed out that in fact Hangman did burn down his family home, Swerve noted that the whole point of their initial rivalry was for him to drag Hangman into that dark place.

“Well, the whole point was I wanted to drag him down to show him that you’re just as bad as I am. And I proved it. It’s like Joker with Batman saying, you’re no better than me. They just glorify you for what you do. Deep down, you’re just as willing, or just as dirty as I am.”
