Streameast, World’s Largest Illegal Sports Streaming Website, Shut Down After Two Men Arrested

Streameast has been officially shut down.
While there are several ways for fans in the modern age to watch professional wrestling or mixed martial arts, many choose to stream the events on illegal streaming sites. When it comes to sports, no other site gets as many views as Streameast, which received over 1.6 billion visits over the past year, averaging 136 million views a month.
According to The Athletic, the site was shut down after two men were arrested in Egypt after The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) said it worked with Egyptian law enforcement officials to disrupt the service. Authorities would seize laptops, phones and more. ACE’s Charles Rivkin, chairman of ACE and chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association (MPA) had the following to say.
“ACE scored a resounding victory in its fight to detect, deter, and dismantle criminal perpetrators of digital piracy: by taking down the largest illegal live sports platform anywhere, with this landmark action, we have put more points on the board for sports leagues, entertainment companies, and fans worldwide — and our global alliance will stay on the field as long as it takes to identify and target the biggest piracy rings across the globe.”
Following the raid, Streameast’s original domain has been closed down, but other copycat sites have sprung up in the interim.
