Stephanie Vaquer comments on her father being at WWE Wrestlepalooza.
At WWE Wrestlepalooza on September 20th, Stephanie Vaquer would take on IYO Sky at the event with the vacant WWE Women’s World Championship on the line. Vaquer would win the match after hitting a corkscrew moonsault from the top rope, winning her first championship on the WWE main roster, following the bout, she would celebrate with her father who was at ringside.
While speaking to CHV Noticias in a new interview following her championship victory, Vaquer would speak about her championship victory and having her father at ringside.
“It was a long and difficult road because first I was going against Naomi. I didn’t know what event I was going to part of because first it was in Clash In Paris and then they canceled on me. I am very happy with the news she gave, but it was a very big change of plans and then I was very sick. There were many changes that, really, it was uncertain to know when this great day was going to arrive and to be able to compete for the Championship. I already knew that I already had the opportunity, but I also had that pressure to be ready for when that moment came and I wasn’t sure when it was going to be. The times were perfect and everything settled down for some reason. It was just for my dad’s birthday, who was in the front row. (He) He was watching wrestling for the first time live, he was watching how I fulfilled my dream. It was perfect for me to have my hero there, I think it meant a lot. Not only to fulfill my dream, but it was something better than that.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Vaquer noted that she had made a big sacrifice earlier in her life to make her WWE Women’s World Title win happen. You can read more about that here.
On Monday’s edition of WWE RAW, Vaquer would tease future matchups with the likes of Nikki Bella, Rhea Ripley and Lyra Valkyria. For the full results from Monday’s edition of WWE RAW, you can find them here.
