Sol Ruca Says She Evolved The Sol Snatcher After Seeing Backlash About It Being ‘Too Situational’

Sol Ruca loves proving people wrong.

The Sol Snatcher finisher was a big topic of discussion when it was introduced early on in Sol Ruca’s career. Since then, the move has evolved into a phenomenon of its own, as Ruca has used it in different settings and spots.

Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp for a new interview, Ruca talked about evolving the move after seeing some negative feedback creep in.

“100%. When I first did it on Level Up and it went viral and stuff. Initially, it was like a bunch of like positive feedback and everyone being like, ‘This is so cool,’ and then the more times I did it, I set it up in the same spot, like in the corners. I think that was like the first thing people picked up on. That’s when like a bunch of haters swarmed in and was like, ‘Oh, it’s too situational. Like it’s always going to be in the corner. The opponents just need to get out of the way or just like not be in the corner.’ So I was like, ‘Okay, bet. I’m going to figure out a way how to do it literally everywhere else.’ So that’s kind of what inspired me to prove them wrong and to show that I can do it wherever I want.”
