Sol Ruca Gives Origin Story Of Sol Snatcher, Decided Landing In A Stunner Position Wasn’t Good For Her Back Long-Term

Sol Ruca has snatched the WWE universe by storm with her Sol Snatcher finisher.
The move entails Sol hitting a springboard frontflip before catching her opponent with a cutter.
Speaking to Booker T and Brad Gilmore on Hall of Fame, Sol gave the origin story of the move.
“It’s tough coming up with completely unique stuff in wrestling because everything has been done before. Mine kind of came from gymnastics. It was a move that I did on the high bar called a straddle back and it’s where you swing off the high bar forward, you swing backwards, you let go and do kind of like a half front-flip and then land on your hands in a handstand. I kind of wanted to bring that into a wrestling move. I had seen a similar move from someone who did it on the side of the rope, and they did it into a stunner, but I was like, ‘There is no way my back is going to handle that long-term.’ I tried to workshop it a little bit and decided that landing in the cutter position was the best thing for me and it took off,” she said.
Sol hit a double Sol Snatcher on Roxanne Perez and Alexa Bliss in her main roster debut on the July 11th episode of WWE SmackDown.
Sol Ruca is the reigning WWE NXT Women’s North American Champion and WWE Speed Champion.
