Seth Rollins names his dream wrestling matches with NFL players and coaches.
To promote this weekend’s Royal Rumble event, Seth Rollins stopped by ESPN’s Get Up show on Thursday, January 29. Peter Schrager asked Rollins to name five dream matches that include names from the NFL.
Kicking off the list, Rollins took aim at the recent Bill Belichick/Hall Of Fame controversy.
“We’ll start with number 5, easy one. Bill Belichick versus the Hall Of Fame voters who voted against him. That is asinine. Belichick should wipe the floor with these people, he’s a first ballot Hall Of Famer. If he’s not, who is?”
Next up, ‘The Visionary’ touted the new rivalry between Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield and Falcons coach Kevin Stafanski.
“Number four, Kevin Stefanski versus Baker Mayfield. Baker calls out Stefanski, now Stefanski is in Atlanta. Oh man, they got to go at it twice a year. I love it.”
Trent Williams vs. Myles Garrett was the next matchup on Rollins’ list.
“Number three, position battle, elite versus elite. Trent Williams against Myles Garrett. Rock and a hard place, I don’t even know who would be the winner on that one. It’s the NFL sack king against one of the greatest tackles to ever play the game.”
Mike Evans and Marshon Lattimore have fought multiple times on the field, which explains its high spot on the list.
“Number two, two dudes that have been going at it basically their whole careers. Mike Evans versus Marshon Lattimore. You love to see it. That’s beautiful, look at that physicality.”
The list was topped with a personal pick for Rollins, as he picked the Bears coach to face the Packers coach.
“Number one, Matt LaFleur versus Ben Johnson. The icy cold handshake, take it back to when Ben Johnson got hired this year where he says, ‘You know, I kind of like beating Matt LaFleur twice a year.’”
