Sareee Was ‘Very Surprised’ By Mayu Iwatani’s Departure From STARDOM, Thinks They Could Wrestle In Marigold

The idea of a Sareee-ISM show outside of Japan was discussed as well.

A chat with Sareee about Mayu Iwatani and Sareee-ISM.

Pep Shop Collectibles conducted an interview with Sareee and as the conversation moved along, she was asked about Mayu Iwatani’s departure from STARDOM.

Sareee stated that she fully intended on challenging Iwatani for the IWGP Women’s Title which Iwatani ended up losing to Syuri. Iwatani is now working with Marigold. Sareee thinks there’s a chance she could return to Marigold and work with Iwatani. Here’s what she said via the translator who was a part of the interview:

“Like Sareee-san said, she was planning to fight (Mayu) Iwatani. She was planning to challenge her for her title. But when she lost and then announced she was leaving, Sareee was like, ‘Hey, why? What’s going on here? I don’t understand,’ and she was very surprised by this news.

She definitely thinks there might be a chance to go to Marigold and also wrestle her.”

Sareee presents her Sareee-ISM independent shows. She was asked if she’s interested in holding one of those events outside of Japan and here was the response:

“Of course, regarding whether she wants to do the show abroad. Of course she has that feeling of wanting to do it. With the intentions of wanting to do it in different places would be great.”

An IWGP Women’s Title match between Syuri and Sareee is billed for STARDOM’s June 21st show. Syuri will first defend the belt against Alex Windsor on June 6th for the Pro-Wrestling: EVE promotion.
