Samoa Joe Said He Had ‘Tons Of Breaks’ Behind Sweet Tooth Mask While Filming Twisted Metal Season 2
Samoa Joe speaks on his time playing Sweet Tooth in Twisted Metal.
Samoa Joe talks about breaking behind the Sweet Tooth mask.
Twisted Metal’s second season began streaming on Peacock on July 31st, with a pro wrestling influence within the cast. AEW’s Samoa Joe once again would portray Sweet Tooth under his costume, while Will Arnett voices the character. The show has plenty of comedic moments, and for Joe, it was a good thing he had a mask to hide him breaking during said comedic moments.
While speaking to Yahoo! Entertainment in a new interview, Samoa Joe was asked if he broke under the mask while filming the second season of the show, noting that the mask hid ‘tons of breaks’.
“Oh, a lot. Tons of breaks were hidden by that mask, thankfully. Especially [Episode 4], yeah, I had lots to laugh about. So, yeah, it helped. It helped not ruin the mood, because it can be very serious on set.”
Joe continued, noting that Sweet Tooth is ‘such a fun face to bring life to’.
“It has its challenges, but at the same time, it’s such a fun face to bring life to. It’s got this huge, big, dumb smile. Listen, of all the masks you could have, it’s probably one of the better masks you could have if you want to get across the point.”
Elsewhere in another interview about Twisted Metal season 2, Joe stated that he fractured his ankle while filming the latest season of the show. You can read more about that here.
