Samoa Joe: It’s Ridiculous To Want To Aspire To Be The Next Somebody

Samoa Joe comments on the idea of there being a ‘next Samoa Joe’.

Throughout wrestling history, many talent’s have fallen under the pressure of being called the next version of a popular pro wrestler and for Samoa Joe, this is something he feels strongly about.

While speaking to TheAllianceBlog in a new interview, Joe was asked who, in his opinion, could be considered ‘the next Samoa Joe’, leading to Joe noting that he hopes it ends up being ‘hopefully nobody’.

“Hopefully nobody. Nobody. One of one. Listen, it’s ridiculous to want to aspire to be the next somebody. In fact, it’s beyond ridiculous because I didn’t get into this to be the next somebody. I got into this to be me, and whatever next successful star should get in this to be them and should not ever want to have the label, living in somebody’s shadow, living up to somebody else’s expectations.”
