Sami Zayn Instituting WWE US Title Open Challenge, Gets John Cena’s Blessing
Sami Zayn is instituting the WWE United States Title Open Challenge, getting the blessing from John Cena on WWE SmackDown.
Zayn interrupted Cena from leaving after his opening promo on SmackDown, getting booed by the Chicago crowd. Zayn said that he wanted to be a fighting champion like Cena was when he was US Champion, and give opportunities to up and coming talent, just like Cena.
Zayn said he wanted to bring back the US Title Open Challenge, but wanted Cena’s blessing.
Cena gave Zayn the blessing, saying it was a good idea. Before Cena could leave, Zayn suggested that Cena be the first man to answer the open challenge. Cena accepted, and the match was on.

Zayn answered Cena’s open challenge in 2015 in Zayn’s first main roster match.
