Rusev Rejects ‘Rusev Day’ Chants From WWE Clash In Paris: ‘It’s 2025, Wake Up’
Rusev responds to “Rusev Day” chants from the Paris crowd at WWE Clash in Paris.
Rusev defeated Sheamus in a Good Ol’ Fashioned Donnybrook Match at WWE Clash in Paris. What that means in layman’s terms is that they beat the hell out of each other, and “The Bulgarian Brute” came out on top. This was Rusev’s toughest test since returning to WWE following WrestleMania 41. However, the crowd in Paris attempted to relive the Bulgarian’s prior WWE run by chanting “Rusev Day.”
Rusev, on the WWE Clash in Paris recap podcast, explained that he wants the WWE Universe to wake up and realize that it’s not 2018 anymore, and he’s not the same guy. However, there will come a time when it is time to celebrate his day again, and when that day comes, he will let everyone know exactly how to react.
“We had a great time with Rusev Day back in the day. These people, clearly, in France, they are still thinking it’s 2018 because they were chanting, ‘Rusev Day,’ bro, wake up. It’s 2025. I am Rusev. I’m here to dominate. There’s no such thing as Rusev Day. I’m a killer machine. I’m the brute. The brute is back. The winning machine is back. There’s no Rusev Day. The only celebration that I’m going to be doing is — you don’t get to celebrate my day. When I say I’m going to celebrate my day, when I say it’s okay for you to celebrate my day, I’m going to give you the cue. But until then, just know your place.”
Rusev has stated that he also has his sights set on winning his first WWE World Championship. Learn more about that here.
