Ronda Rousey Says Wrestling Is ‘Pretty Much’ In Her Rearview Mirror

Rousey states that she’s pretty much done with wrestling.
The latest episode of The Lapsed Fan podcast featured a near-hour-long discussion with Ronda Rousey. As the conversation progressed, she was asked if wrestling is in her rearview mirror.
The multi-time WWE Women’s Champion responded by saying ‘pretty much.’ She stated that she got into WWE because she wanted to wrestle with her friends Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke, and Marina Shafir, collectively known as The Four Horsewomen. Rousey said that carrot was dangled in front of her for her entire run.
She added that in the second run, it came to a point where she was of the mindset that she would leave if she did not get to wrestle with Baszler.
Rousey’s last WWE match took place at SummerSlam 2023, where she fell in defeat to Baszler in an MMA Rules match.
She later stated that what made her step away was that they were never going to allow her to make things as good as they could be. Rousey said meeting them halfway was ‘crushing her soul.’ She said she’ll take everything she learned from pro wrestling and apply it to other passions. She described that period of her life as a ‘sabbitical.’
Rousey did several matches post-WWE. She ventured over to Ring of Honor as well and teamed with Marina Shafir.
