Ronda Rousey recalls how Paul Heyman helped inspire her graphic novel.
Rousey is a former mixed martial artist and a pro wrestler who has also released her own graphic novel recently earlier this month, and now she credits a moment during her WWE career for the idea.
While speaking to Kenny The Sports Guy in a new interview, Ronda Rousey was asked about her graphic novel and where she got the inspiration from.
“Well, it came about with, I was in the go home before WrestleMania, which is the last show before WrestleMania. Vince had just torn up the script and nobody knew what they’re doing and I was panicking and they already opened the doors and people were filing into the arena and I was freaking out, and I think Paul Heyman was just trying to get me to relax. He pulled me aside and he was like, what kind of movie do you want to star in? I’m like, what? What do you want to star in? Why, do you have something? He’s like, no, what do you want to do? I never thought about it. I was being a spoiled little entitled brat and waiting for someone to hand me my greenlit dream project without putting a thought into it.”
Elsewhere in a recent interview, Ronda stated her belief that everyone should get to slap one person a year. You can read more about that here.
