Rob Gronkowski Says He Felt Like A Huge Pussy After Seeing Vince McMahon Jump Off Scaffolding Before WrestleMania 36
New England Patriots legend Rob Gronkowski got in on the action at WrestleMania 36, jumping off a platform and onto a number of WWE superstars below.
The end result was Gronkowski winning the WWE 24/7 Championship.
While Gronkowski did the jump once WrestleMania was on the air, it was Vince McMahon who had to show him that everything was going to be okay.
“I already knew I was coming back to football. The football thing went down about a week before this, two weeks before. In the back of my mind, it kind of mindfucked me that I was going back to football because I felt like, ‘I can’t be too crazy. I can’t get hurt.’ I was kind of hesitant. Your dad came over and jumped right off the scaffold. I was like, ‘Dude, wow, that was impressive.’ He did such a good job. I was like, to myself, ‘I’m a huge pussy,'” Gronkowski said on What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon.
Stephanie noted that her father was going for that reaction.
“He was going for that.,” confirmed Gronkowski. “Then I was like, ‘I’m jumping.’ No hesitation from there. I did it and won the 24/7 belt.”
Rob Gronkowski held the WWE 24/7 Title for 67 days. He would go on to win the Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
