Ridge Holland Feels He Has Reputation For Not Being Able To Wrestle, Thinks It Comes From Big E Incident & Not Having High Octane Offense

Holland addresses a stigma surrounding his name.

TMZ’s Inside The Ring podcast rolled out an interview with Luke Menzies a.k.a. Ridge Holland. Menzies is no longer with WWE as his deal was not renewed. After he posted a message about being cut while recovering from surgery and possibly not being able to pay his mortgage, WWE terminated his contract.

Menzies touched on that and more during the interview. He addressed the stigma about him not being able to wrestle. He thinks that’s a mix of him being responsible for ending Big E’s in-ring career, in addition to not having high octane offense. Menzies feels that his being away from the ring for a while will clear some of the air surrounding his name.

“I got this kind of reputation of not being able to wrestle, and just because my style wasn’t — because of the Big E thing and because my style wasn’t a thousand high spots in a match… I always like to kind of, you know… just to grind on people and slow things down a little bit, and just because of that style, I think people put the Big E thing, the fact that my style was a little bit different, and a little slower, that I got the connotation that I couldn’t wrestle. So, I just think that going away for a little bit will probably do me good.”

Menzies is also dealing with a neck injury and may have to undergo surgery. He is scheduled for GCW’s Fan Slam event on November 22nd, where he’ll be signing autographs and taking photos.
