Ricky Saints Is 1000% With The Idea Of Facing Cody Rhodes, ‘I’m Sure With Time We’ll Get To That Point’

Ricky Saints has been in NXT for less than a year, but he’s already ascended to the top of the mountain, winning the NXT Championship from Oba Femi at NXT No Mercy.

Without touching the main roster as of yet, there remain a variety of opponents for Saints to face, including his friend Cody Rhodes. Saints and Rhodes have been linked together since Saints (then known as Ricky Starks) made his AEW debut by answering Cody’s open challenge for the TNT Championship.

Appearing on Busted Open Radio, host David LeGreca pitched the idea of Saints vs. Rhodes as his dream match.

“I could see that being a great matchup,” he said.

“I like that,” Saints replied after LeGreca suggested the match go down at a future WrestleMania.

Bishop Dyer noted the history between Saints and Rhodes, pointing out Saints arriving at Royal Rumble 2023 with Rhodes.

“There is so much to it. When you add a real life friendship to things and you have evidence and history of how things have gone, the story is within itself. I’m sure with time we’ll get to that point. It’s always funny to hear that as one of people’s dream matches. I’m with it, 1000%, obviously,” said Saints.

Saints is set to face Trick Williams in a Last Man Standing match at NXT Gold Rush on November 11.
