Rey Mysterio discusses his son’s upcoming title challenge at WWE Worlds Collide.

At WWE Worlds Collide this Friday, Dominik Mysterio is currently scheduled to challenge El Hijo Del Vikingo one on one for the AAA Mega Championship, looking to become a double champion along with the WWE Intercontinental Championship he currently holds.

While speaking on the latest episode of the RAW Recap podcast, Rey Mysterio would be asked about Dominik’s upcoming title challenge, noting he would have to tip his mark twice to his son if he were to become a double champion.

“Well, the first thing, or first thought that comes to mind is, I never became a Mega Champion in AAA in the four years that I was there. So I honestly, God’s honest truth, I give him his props if he overcomes that obstacle. Another thing that a Mysterio has never done is become a double champion. carrying a title from the U.S. and a title from Mexico. So if he were to do that, you know, now I’m going to have to tip my mask twice to him. Would it be hard? Yes, it would be, because I wish he was flat on this ground, on Earth, and not in Cloud 9. But overall, you know, Hijo del Vikingo to me is like an unbelievable superstar athlete, just on a different level. The stuff that he does with ease is amazing. So, I don’t know. He’s going to have a tough challenge in his hands. I mean, Dom. Dirty Dom. Because, again, Vikingo has defended and has been a great champion for the company, but you just never know, right? You never know what’s going to happen this Friday.”

Megan Morant would then ask Rey if winning the AAA Mega Championship at Worlds Collide will make Dom the greatest Mysterio of all time as he likes to proclaim.

“Well, I don’t know if two titles define you as the greatest Mysterio of all time. I mean, this is going to happen in one night. I’ve been doing this for 34 years. Would one night overcome 34 years of career? That’s a people question. But again, he will start breaking ground to become potentially the best Mysterio of all time. That is always a big possibility, and if he does it this Friday, then he’s just starting… getting closer and closer to that goal.”

Last month, Dominik would make it crystal clear he was coming for El Hijo Del Vikingo’s championhip. You can read more about that here.
