Rey Fenix Says He Will Soon Be A WWE Champion, Road Dogg Agrees

Rey Fenix answered Sami Zayn’s WWE US Title open challenge on the September 12th episode of WWE SmackDown.
Though Fenix was unsuccessful in his quest for gold, he believes he will be a WWE champion soon enough.
Fenix wrote on social media, “Last Friday I took the opportunity in the open challenge to face the United States Champion Samy Zayn. I didn’t win the match but it was a great match and I’m very happy with my work that night, soon i will be a @wwe Champion! I’m ready for the big challenges!”

Fenix won singles gold in other promotions, including the Lucha Underground Champion, AAA Mega Championship, and AEW International Championship.
He has yet to hold a title, singles or tag team, in WWE.
Fenix was teaming with Andrade ahead of WWE SummerSlam, but Andrade was released by the promotion on September 13. Friday’s SmackDown was Fenix’s first televised match since WWE SummerSlam.
