Report: WWE Sent AEW A Letter Regarding Andrade And His Non-Compete Clause

Andrade El Idolo made his return to AEW on the October 1st episode of AEW Dynamite. He had been released by WWE on September 13, reportedly due to wellness violations.

Andrade has not been back on AEW TV since his return, leading many to wonder what his current status is.

According to Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, WWE sent AEW a letter regarding Andrade and his non-compete clause. AEW reportedly believed that he didn’t have a non-compete.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp added, “The Andrade situation is very weird. Even people in WWE thought he didn’t have a non-compete.”

WWE main roster wrestlers typically have a 90-day non-compete clause after they are released by the company.

Andrade did wrestle for The Crash in Mexico on October 3

He aligned with the Don Callis Family upon making his AEW return, attacking Kenny Omega.

Fightful will provide more information on Andrade’s status when it is known.
