REPORT: Joe Hendry Still Under Contract With TNA; Internal Expectation That He’ll Be Full-Time With WWE In 2026
The report notes that people in TNA and WWE expect Hendry to land in WWE full-time in the new year.
At NXT Homecoming, former TNA World Champion Joe Hendry was on the show and was involved in a segment with Bobby Roode, Charlie Dempsey, and Wren Sinclair. Roode told Hendry to focus on the NXT Championship.
Coming off the heels of that, Jon Alba of The Takedown on Sports Illustrated rolled out a report, which noted that Hendry is in the process of being ‘largely’ phased out of TNA programming and will be consistently featured on WWE television.
The report notes that there’s an internal expectation in both WWE and TNA that Hendry is going to be full-time with WWE by the beginning of 2026.
TNA President Carlos Silva relayed to Sports Illustrated that Hendry is still under contract to TNA.
At NXT Homecoming, Hendry was included in the opening video package. The WWE Recruit Instagram page posted a video of Hendry discussing his favorite WWE match while he was sporting a shirt with the WWE logo on it.
Hendry competed in the 2025 men’s Royal Rumble match and wrestled Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41. He was in action on TNA programming on their 9/11 show and picked up a win over Travis Williams.
