Rayne Leverekusen reflects on being named the MVP of WWE’s SummerSlam tryouts earlier this year.

Several independent pro wrestlers and athletes would take part WWE’s SummerSlam week tryouts, including Rayne Leverkusen. Rayne would go one step further, being named the MVP of the tryouts, although as of this writing, the company has yet to sign her to their roster.

While speaking to Grapple Theory in a new interview, Rayne spoke about being named the MVP of the tryouts, noting that in the moment, she felt ‘so seen and recognized.’

“It’s moment of the year and this- because I think I spoke to you about it at EVE, it felt like in that moment that all those coaches and the people in that room had watched and seen what I did for the whole year so year whilst I was out. It felt like it was all seen because people just might think that you’re sitting at home on your butt just watching telly, but it felt like in that moment they recognized how much pain I went through and how much sadness I was in and then going to the shows and being backstage crying and then having to come out and do a promo or announce a show and announce my best friends coming out and announcing my boyfriend, even though as much as I loved doing it, how painful it was, I felt that was all seen in that five minutes, and no matter what happens after this, like no matter whether I end up being in Wrestlemania in five years or, whether I never wrestle again sort of thing, no one can take away those five minutes for me because I just felt so seen and recognized, and it’s just- sorry, it just makes me feel emotional because I just felt very recognized in that moment and that’s something that would never be taken away from me.”
