Raquel Rodriguez talks the process of avoiding elimination in Royal Rumble matches.
Rodriguez has become one of the top powerhouses in WWE’s women’s division and as a result, she would become a multiple time women’s tag champion throughout her time on the WWE main roster, as well as a former NXT Women’s Champion.
While speaking on the Cheap Heat podcast ahead of WWE SummerSlam, Raquel explained that when people are attempting to eliminate her in Rumbles, she deadweights them.
“A pain in the ass [Laughs]. My dad gave me a really good piece of advice. (He) was a bigger guy and a worker, he always told me in the Rumble, especially when you know it’s not a moment for you, ‘You should just deadweight them. Deadweight every single person who tries to lift you.’ I’ve done it to so many girls because they’re like, ‘I’m going to pick you up, just fight it.’ ‘Yeah, yeah.’ Deadweight. If you can really pull a 200-pounder over the top rope, great, good for you, you deserve it.”
Raquel recently commented on the lack of WWE house shows anymore, noting that she wishes they would make a comeback. You can read more about that here.
