R-Truth applauds John Cena’s performance in his last match against Gunther at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
In the final stages of Cena’s last match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Gunther would lock in his patented sleeper hold that would eventually force the 17 time WWE World Champion to tap out in his final bout inside the squared circle.
While speaking on the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event recap, R-Truth spoke about how Cena finished out his career, noting that he applauded it.
“I applaud it because John will be the first one to tell you you can’t win them all. He’d be the first one to tell you, man, you got to hustle, loyalty, respect, never give up. But you can’t win them all. You have to know. He always used to tell me, one heel at a time. Sometimes you have to know which heel will go up and which heel will come down. That right there was an applaud for me because it was a hell of a match. He gave it everything he wanted to give it for his last spin. You know what I’m saying? Like he went out the way he wanted to. He went out fighting. He told you from the beginning, we’re going to go out here and have a business. We’re going to give it all we got. I was appreciative. That was appreciative. I was happy for that.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Truth spoke on Cena leaving wrestling on his own terms. You can read more about that here.
