Preston Vance Reflects On Dark Order, LFI, And Why Frat House Feels Right For Him
Preston Vance discusses the differences between the various groups he has been a part of in AEW.
Preston Vance started as Brodie Lee’s hand-picked protégé in the Dark Order. When he left that group, he joined RUSH in La Faccion Ingobernable, where he spent some time as the group’s muscle. Currently, he primarily appears on Ring of Honor television as part of Frat House, alongside Jacked Jameson, Cole Karter, and Griff Garrison.
Preston Vance, Cole Karter, and Griff Garrison recently talked with Stephen Jensen and Jeremy Lambert on Fightful Overbooked’s The Spotlight. During the interview, he discussed the different roles he’s played in factions before and why he feels that Frat House is now allowing him to be his true self.
“I can be myself. [Dark Order] used to have this guy, number ten, and when he left, that group went to shit [laughs]. Honestly, I loved working with Dark Order and Brodie. I had to wear a mask, which I hated in the beginning, but it was something I’ve never done. I adapted to it and now you have to show personality without using your face or talking, which is really hard. Then, joining RUSH and LFI, had a blast with them and that brought out a more vicious side. The big task working with them is, they don’t speak great English, so we’re in matches and it’s hard to communicate.
“They were both challenging, wearing a mask and working with a group that doesn’t speak great English, so there’s a language barrier, but I’m happy I got to do both of those things because I’ve been in three groups now and they are 180s of each other. This is where I fit in the most because I can be myself. The other ones, Brodie was obviously the leader and I was the heater. LFI, I was the heater, which is cool, but I’m way more hands on with this and us four are always spitballing ideas. I’m definitely having the most fun doing this group because I can be the most real version of myself. Not taking away from working with those other guys. I learned a ton from Brodie and RUSH, but I like where I’m at right now.”
Frat House recently lost to Dark Order at ROH Supercard of Honor. That was due in part to some interference from Brodie Lee Jr. Learn more about that here.
