Preston Vance Recalls Brodie Lee Trying To Make Dark Order Laugh During BTE Skits
Preston Vance reflects on filming segments with Dark Order for the Being The Elite YouTube show.
The Dark Order members began to connect with each other and the audience while filming segments for Being The Elite during the pandemic. Preston Vance was a young star on the AEW roster and just finding his way into the group as Brodie Lee’s hand-picked protégé. Now, he’s reflecting on filming the funny sketches.
Preston Vance was asked about filming the sketches during a recent appearance on Fightful Overbooked’s The Spotlight. He reflected on Brodie Lee’s attempts to make everyone else laugh off camera and the chemistry he had with John Silver, Evil Uno, and the rest of the group. He also said Hangman Page, a good friend of the group during that time, was also fun to work with.
“If Brodie wasn’t on camera, he would be in the back trying to make us laugh. It would take a good amount. Me and Silver would get together and feed off each other. There were a few where it would take a lot of takes. I was wearing a mask, so I could laugh, and it didn’t matter. Me and Uno would be laughing and it would make the other guys laugh. We spent a lot of time in that little bar room at Daily’s Place, and we would film stuff all day. It was so fun. It was a Saturday Night Live-type vibe. I loved filming it. There were a few that took a lot of takes. I think my favorite one was Cowbody Day with Hangman. That’s still my favorite skit we’ve done. He was another great guy to work with.”
The YouTube series is currently on indefinite hiatus. Still, the catalog of episodes can be watched at this link.
