Omos Weighs In On AJ Styles Retiring In 2026

Omos speaks about his former partner.
A.J. Styles has confirmed that 2026 will be the year he steps away from in-ring competition. With a month left to go before he wraps up his final stretch as a wrestler, Styles’ former partner Omos spoke about the plan to retire.
Omos was interviewed by MuscleManMalcolm and said the following:
“I mean, it’s kind of sad. He’s one of the greats. He’s wrestled for over 25 years at this point. It’s sad that someone as great as him is gonna be hanging up the boots. But still, I’m happy because knowing him personally, I know that he’s also a family man. He has a beautiful family and I also know that he’s getting to spend time with his kids. A lot of his kids are becoming teenagers, and you know, the thing about this business is — not so much now but when we’re in it, we’re always going. Never around for events, birthday parties, gone. Family functions, we’re never there. Even when things are planned in advance, you’re one call away from being booked. He’s paid his dues and he’s just ready to sit down and spend time with his family. But I think it’s well due. He’s been successful in every company he’s ever wrestled, you know, from Ring of Honor, New Japan, TNA, WWE. He’s done it all. He’s done everything. He’s truly ‘The Phenomenal One.’ That moniker is not just a moniker just for nothing. It means something. He’s done it at the highest level for 25 years and still continues to do so.”
Styles and Omos held the Raw Tag Team Championship together in 2021. They won the belts at WrestleMania 37 and were champions for 133 days before losing the titles to RK-Bro (Randy Orton & Matt Riddle).
