Oba Femi: My Goal Is More To Let African Kids Know That You Can Dream Big And It’s Possible To Become A Wrestler

Oba Femi says that his goal is to let African kids know that you can dream big and it’s possible to become a pro wrestler.

Femi is an African pro wrestler who was born in Lagos, Nigeria and has brought a lot of factors from his country of origin to his wrestling character, including his accent and entrance titantron’s featuring the bright green and white colors of the Nigerian flag. Now, Femi has spoken about wanting to inspire young fans in Africa.

While speaking to BBC Sport in a new interview, Oba Femi was asked about fans from Africa looking to him for inspiration.

“I grew up a fan, and I was like man, I would kill to be a wrestler, you know? But, it just didn’t feel plausible. Like, I mean, Africa is run out of the United States. They don’t even really come to Africa for live events. You know, like, you start telling yourself all these things, and my goal is not necessarily to, make young kids come and wrestle. Like, that’s not the goal, but my goal is more to let them know that you can dream big and it’s okay and it’s possible.”
