NFL New York Giants Interim Head Coach Discusses Cam Skattebo’s WWE Raw Appearance, Says He Trusts Skattebo Despite Him Being Injured
The Giants’ interim head coach weighs in.
Monday Night Raw emanated from Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 17th. There was a ringside segment where comedian/actor Andrew Schulz was being interviewed by Jackie Redmond. He was seated next to members of the NFL New York Giants football team, one of whom was running back Cam Skattebo.
Skattebo, Sculz, and a few members of the Giants got into a brawl with The Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio, Finn Bálor & J.D. McDonagh).
The footage began to circulate throughout sports media because Cam Skattebo is on the Giants’ injury reserve list. His appearance was brought up to Giants interim head coach Mike Kafka. Kafka said the following to reporters about the segment:
“I knew they were going to the event. It’s a rookie event. We have some team events that our support staff put together for the rookies to kind of get out. I thought it was a cool thing. I know it was a staged little brawl there. It was great to see Skatt on the pre-game, on the sideline. His juice, his energy, you could feel it. I could feel it through the TV, through my phone. I was watching the clips. So it’s a cool event for those guys to kind of get out and be out in the community here.” Kafka was asked if he felt secure with Skattebo’s safety, and he replied, “Yeah, I trust Skatt. I trust our medical department, our medical staff…”

Skattebo suffered an open ankle dislocation during the Giants’ week eight game. He was carted off and transported to a local hospital for emergency surgery.
