News On ROH Death Before Dishonor, Women’s Pure Title
The Ring of Honor Women’s Pure Tournament is now underway.
The championship itself was announced in April and didn’t have firm plans for it announced until the last week of August ahead of Death Before Dishonor. Based on what Fightful Select was told, that’s when much of the planning actually came together.
ROH owner Tony Khan noted in the past that injuries caused a domino affect that changed and delayed plans for the ROH Women’s Pure Title. At one point in the summer, none of the talent we spoke to in ROH had heard any updates on the championship, and simply thought that the idea for it had been abandoned. However, that wasn’t the case.
Those we spoke to familiar with the situation say the brackets for the ROH Women’s Pure Tournament actually weren’t finalized until late in the week ahead of ROH Death Before Dishonor, and talent were informed. There were also plans for ROH Death Before Dishonor that came together in the days leading up to the show.
Despite the unfortunate streaming issues, sources we spoke to seemed happy with the buzz the company got from airing the show on Youtube.
