Natalya Says She Had Anxiety And Panic Attacks While Writing Her Book
Natalya says she was having panic attacks while working on her book.
On Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story podcast, Natalya said that she had panic attacks while working on her memoir, The Last Hart Beating: From the Dungeon to WWE, because she had to relive some hard moments from her past.
“When I was working on my book, I was having these panic attacks while writing the book, because I was reliving a lot of hard moments. I was like, ‘God, I just need to get the story right.'”
Natalya says she wanted everyone to like her book, and that made her question whether she should include certain stories there or not.
“I think, in writing this book, I realized at the end of it, I was like, ‘Man, I’m like a recovering people-pleaser.’ I realized why I was having those anxiety attacks was because when I was writing the book, I was like, ‘I need to make sure this person likes it. I want to make sure this person likes it. I want to make sure that I want my dad, I want to make sure I do him right. I want to make sure that this person’s not mad. Or maybe I should leave that story out.’ Then I was like, ‘Well, if I’m going to write a book, I gotta… You can’t just share only the good. You have to share the hard.’
Because on the other side of the hard stuff was actually this beautiful, like, hope. I wanted my book to be really hopeful. I wanted people, where they got to the end, and I wanted them to feel so much hope. I wanted people to feel and to heal and to really get something out of the book.”
Natalya’s book was released on October 28, and it was published by Simon & Schuster.
Elsewhere in the same podcast, Stephanie McMahon also shared a tragic story of her miscarriage. Fans can read more about it here.
