Naomichi Marufuji has used a move inspired by an error in CM Punk and Jey Uso’s world title bout.
On the November 1st edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Jey Uso and CM Punk would meet with the vacant WWE World Title on the line. During the course of the match, Punk would look to set up a twisting neckbreaker that didn’t come off as planned, with both men collapsing to the mat.
In a new social media post on November 8th, Naomichi Marufuji showed that he was inspired by the error by the two men, showing off a variation of a DDT that he used at Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Star Navigation event on the same day.
“Everything has a meaning. I was inspired by that move and created this technique. I’d love to see CM Punk use it too.”

すべての物事に意味がある。あの動きにインスピレーションを受けて、この技を編み出したんだ。CMパンクにも使ってもらいたいね。 https://t.co/6EiczXpCPb pic.twitter.com/19c1ItZoA1

Elsewhere at Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Star Navigation event, WWE NXT’s Hank and Tank would capture the GHC Tag Team Championships, with Marufuji stepping up with a partner for a future title bout. You can read more about that here.
