MVP Says He’s Talked To Batista About Turning His Life Into A Movie

Before becoming a well-traveled veteran in the world of wrestling, MVP grew as a gang member and spent nearly a decade in jail.

With plenty of stories to tell, MVP was asked if he’s thought about turning his life into a movie or book.

“The short answer is, yes, I have considered it many times, but I’m one of the laziest hard working people you will ever meet and I have not begun that manuscript because I don’t want a ghost writer. I want to write it myself, just like Chris Jericho, Mick Foley, and Bret Hart. They actually wrote their own books,” MVP said on his Marking Out podcast.

He continued, “I have thought about it and many people have asked me about it. It’s something I want to do. I actually talked to my good friend Dave Bautista. We’ve talked about, with his production company, taking the step to turn my life story into a movie. It’s something that I trust Dave to do it. I wouldn’t trust anybody with it because my life story is not PG. It’s rated R. Rated X, legit. We have to get PG-13 at minimum. It’s something Dave and I talked about, and it’s on the backburner.

“My life is a movie, a movie in the making. From my teenage years in Miami as a graffiti artist/gang member, becoming an armed robber and going to prison. Nine and a half years in prison and all the bullshit I survived and saw in there. Coming out, being a bouncer and bodyguard on south beach and selling weed and steroids to support my wrestling habit. Going on to eventually making it as a professional wrestler.”

He concluded by saying, “It’s been talked about many times, I just haven’t done it yet. Eventually, hopefully, before this ticker gives out, we’ll get it done. Dave, can we get together and talk aboout this at some point?”

Elsewhere during the interview, MVP commented on his reported heat with Mike Bailey. You can find his full comments here.
