MVP Costs Ricochet & Gates Of Agony AEW World Trios Title Match On AEW Dynamite
The Hurt Syndicate gets their revenge.
There was a championship match on the bill for the August 27th AEW Dynamite. The World Trios Titles were on the line as The Opps (Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata & Powerhouse Hobbs) defended against Ricochet and Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona).
The backend of the bout saw Ricochet climbing up to the top rope to hit one of his signature moves, but coming up from behind was MVP. MVP hit Ricochet over the back with his cane. Samoa Joe capitalized and choked Ricochet out to retain the titles for his team.
As the Gates of Agony were helping Ricochet out of the ring, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin showed up to brawl with Kaun and Liona.
It was at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door that Ricochet and Gates of Agony showed up during the AEW World Tag Title four-way. They fought with Lashley and Benjamin and effectively removed them from the match. New AEW World Tag Team Champions Brodido (Bandido & Brody King) went on to win the match.
